I. DESCRIPCION

Los topicos a cubrir incluyen la presentacion de elementos conceptuales del efecto de la estructura, el fraseo y el contexto de las preguntas en el comportamiento de los entrevistados; los efectos de metodos alternativos de recoleccion de datos; los roles de los encuestadores en la operacion de la encuesta y las respuestas del entrevistado; y los errores asociados a las distintas etapas del procesamiento de datos (captura, edicion, codificacion e  imputacion). Para cada topico, se presentan ejemplos concretos y aplicaciones practicas.


II. OBJETIVOS

1. Profundizar en los conceptos asociados con la precision y acuracidad de los datos levantados a partir de encuestas, con especial enfasis en errores no muestrales derivados del dise?o de cuestionario, del trabajo de campo y del procesamiento de los datos.

2. Profundizar y discutir acerca de las principales decisiones metodologicas de dise?o de cuestionarios para encuestas sociales. 

3. Revisar experiencias en el dise?o de cuestionarios para encuestas de envergadura nacional.


III. CONTENIDOS

1. Conceptos y principios fundamentales en la evaluacion de la calidad de encuestas. Validez de constructo y error de medicion.

2. Modelo cognitivo del proceso de respuesta (comprension, recuerdo, juicio, respuesta).

3. Metodos de pretesteo: revision de expertos, prueba de campo y otros.

4. Discusion de un estudio de caso.

5. Metodos de recoleccion de datos y dise?o de cuestionarios: encuestas cara a cara, autoadministradas y telefonicas.

6. Efecto de los encuestadores en los datos levantados.

7. Codificacion, captura y edicion de datos.

8. Estandares eticos para la conduccion de investigacion con seres humanos. Confidencialidad, riesgo y sensibilidad de los temas. Consentimiento informado. Protocolos metodologicos y eticos.
