DESCRIPCION Este curso aborda en profundidad el concepto de capital social, las contribuciones fundacionales que le dan origen, los distintivos enfoques teoricos en aplicacion actual, y los metodos para su medicion y estudio empirico. II. OBJETIVOS 1. Conocer y analizar las principales teorias y perspectivas del capital social, incluyendo los aportes fundacionales a la formulacion del concepto, y los principales enfoques actuales. 2. Estudiar las formas que ha adoptado la medicion del capital social, examinando su metodologia y estrategias de operacionalizacion. 3. Analizar un conjunto de investigaciones que estudian el capital social 4. Aplicar los contenidos del curso al contexto chileno. III. CONTENIDOS 1. Antecedentes del concepto de capital social en la teoria sociologica. 2. Los aportes fundacionales de Bourdieu y Coleman 3. Los trabajos de Robert Putnam 4. El capital social como recurso utilizado a traves de redes sociales (network-based social capital) 5. El capital social como confianza, normas y cuerpos cognitivos 6. Capital social y desarrollo; redes a escala societal y relaciones intra-inter grupos 7. Medicion de capital social en redes sociales: (a) Medidas de redes egocentricas, (b) Medidas Sociometricas, (c) Instrumentos especificos: el Generador de Nombres, el Generador de Posiciones, el Generador de Recursos 8. Medidas de capital social relacionadas con participacion social, asociacion y compromiso civico. 9. Mediciones de confianza social (generalizada y especifica), reciprocidad y formas normativas del capital social. 10. Capital social en Latinoamerica y Chile: estado de la investigacion y tendencias. 11.
