I. OBJETIVOS:
? Analizar el ensayo como genero literario.
? Analizar los diferentes tipos de ensayo: literario, cientifico, sociologico, periodistico.
? Analizar e interpretar el impacto de ensayos y ensayistas en la reafirmacion o
cuestionamiento de cosmovisiones, ideales , consideraciones sobre identidad,
estereotipos y prejuicios en las comunidades culturales angloparlantes.
II. CONTENIDOS:
? La naturaleza del ensayo: una de las formas literarias mas flexibles y adaptables; el
dialogo del autor con un lector ideal.
? Recursos linguisticos que contribuyen a estructurar el ensayo: la integracion de
informacion endoforica y exoforica en la construccion del dialogo entre autor y lector.
? Recursos retoricos que contribuyen a estructurar los diferentes tipos de ensayo y a
configurar distintos estilos discursivos: expositivo, explicativo, persuasivo.
? La ironia como recurso retorico.
? Montaigne y Bacon como los creadores del ensayo moderno.
? El ensayo como una forma de entretencion y como un recurso educativo: Steele y
Addison y el auge del periodismo.
? Seleccion de ensayos divididos en cinco areas tematicas que ofrecen amplia libertad de
eleccion y la alternativa de incluir otras obras.
